How we got this

  1. 1

    Area to be tiled

    A = Length × Height × No. of faces − Openings

    = 0 × 0 × 1 − 0

    = 0 m²

  2. 2

    Area of one tile

    a = L × W

    = 0 × 0

    = 0 m²

  3. 3

    Net tiles

    N = Area / a

    = 0 / 0

    = 0 nos

  4. 4

    With wastage

    Order = N × 1.10

    = 0 × 1.10

    = 0 tiles (0 boxes)

The theory behind it

Method used: Modular area division with wastage allowance — IS 15622 tile sizes

Same logic as flooring, applied to any tiled face. For walls, measure each face separately and deduct openings — a full-height door in a small toilet can change the count by 15%.

Assumptions used

  • •Wastage 10% for cuts, breakage and spares kept for future repair.
  • •Adhesive ≈ 4 kg/m² (0.1 bag of 40 kg).
  • •Joints 2–3 mm; the joint width is ignored in the count.
