How we got this

  1. 1

    Floor area from dimensions

    A = Length × Width × No. of rooms − Deductions

    = 0 × 0 × 1 − 0

    = 0 m²

  2. 2

    Area of one tile

    a = Tile length × Tile width

    = 0 × 0

    = 0 m²

  3. 3

    Tiles without wastage

    N = (Floor area + Skirting) / a

    = 0 / 0

    = 0 nos

  4. 4

    Add 10% wastage

    Order = N × 1.10 (rounded up)

    = 0 × 1.10

    = 0 tiles

  5. 5

    Adhesive and grout

    Adhesive = Area × 4 kg/m² ; Grout = Area × 0.25 kg/m²

    = 0 × 4 kg and × 0.25 kg

    = 0 kg adhesive · 0 kg grout

The theory behind it

Method used: Area take-off with bedding-mortar volume — IS 1443 flooring practice

Divide the floor area by the area of one tile to get the count, then add wastage for cuts at edges, corners and skirting. Adhesive is taken per m² of floor for a 4–6 mm bed.

Assumptions used

  • •Wastage 10% for cutting and breakage (15% for diagonal laying).
  • •Adhesive ≈ 4 kg/m² → 0.1 bag of 40 kg per m².
  • •Grout ≈ 0.25 kg/m² for 2–3 mm joints.
  • •Box of 10 tiles — check the actual box count with your supplier.
